Gazelle - Taking you further! from Gazelle NL on Vimeo.

You might say that Gazelle was the 'Mercedes Benz' of the cycle world, fully equipped and comfortable, fast but not flashy. With high quality paintwork, components and design, Gazelle bicycles offer you comfort and practicality with a level of equipment you aren't used to.

From a Gazelle bicycle you can expect

·         Full integrated mudguards

·         Integrated lights, front and rear (battery or dynamo powered)

·         Upright riding position with adjustable handlebars

·         Comfortable saddle

·         Rear luggage rack ready for a bag or basket

·         Effective chain guard so that your trousers do not get greasy or chewed up in the chain.

·         Integrated frame lock, so you can lock your rear wheel and add a chain to secure your bicycle to a post.

·         A side stand as standard, safer than a wall for a prop when parking and loading luggage.

·         A tyre pump hidden away in the rear rack.

·         Rear wheel guard, keeps more of the elements at bay, also stops a coat or loose luggage from entering the wheel.

With these design details as a standard, Gazelle can offer you good value and an exceptionally friendly bicycle.

Lots of these features are unusual to us in the UK, but they make perfect sense. With frame guaranteed for 10 years, its an investment in your personal mobility that you will enjoy for years to come.

Here is some history of the Gazelle Brand.

Gazelle: more than 100 years the largest bicycle brand in the Netherlands
When
in 1892 William Kölling decided to go into the bicycle shop business, said everyone thought he was crazy. But he had seen one of the first opportunities of this new vehicle and ordered from England certain bicycles. As his business grew so quickly he sought cooperation with food and fire specialist Rudolf Arentsen. Together they built up the business.

The name Gazelle was agreed on by both men for the first time in 1902.
In the summer of that year saw William Kölling and
Laag Soeren, walking through the woods observing animals, they suddenly came across a startled buck. The speed and grace with which the animal made his escape, gave them the idea to name their brand of bicycle 'gazelle', one of the fastest of the antelope species.
